New this year were the Renaissance Re-enactors. They dressed in period clothing, had demonstrations of various activities from that time period and had knights in armor fighting in the streets for everyone’s enjoyment. We had to close the Festival early on Saturday night because of severe storm warnings. Several vendors left and did not come back on Sunday. Pre-pays were left open until October 25th.
The James Whitcomb Riley Breakfast was held at Nine Star Connect this year. Our speaker was Jeff Kuehl, our Riley impersonator. The Greenfield Community Choir provided music. Everyone enjoyed the food from our new caterer.
The J Taylors were the opening entertainers in the Greenfield Banking Company Entertainment Tent.
It was decided that we would not have a Kick-Off Banquet this year. Instead we held an Open House at the Chamber of Commerce to thank all of our volunteers, sponsors and the City of Greenfield for all that they do to make the Festival a success each year.
Becky Gaines was the Chairman of the Information Tent this year. She made decorations for the tent reflecting the theme and had costumes for people to wear to have their picture taken in the Royal Throne.
Also new this year, we gave all of our volunteers a grey T-shirt, volunteer band and lanyard as a Thank You for all their work. Christa Pike was the Chairman of this committee.
Keaton Nolton was chosen Little Mr.
This year we Christmas Festival and Parade of Lights had to be cancelled because of a snow storm coming in.
