All contestants must be ages 4, 5, or 6 as of September 17, 2017 and must be current resident of Hancock County. Please have your children at the Greenfield-Central High School Auditorium no later than 5:30 pm to receive their number. The contest is limited to the first 25 boys and the first 25 girls to register. Applications must be received by Friday, September 15th, they must be mailed, e-mailed, or handed delivered to the Riley Festival Office, 312 E. Main Street, Suite C, Greenfield, IN 46140 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For questions please call 317-462-2141 or e-mail the office. The Little Miss/Little Mr. Pageant ill be part of the Riley Festival Queen Pageant and will be held during intermissions. This year’s theme is based on the James Whitcomb Riley Poem, “After the Frost.” Attire should be based on the theme or be “Sunday Best.”
Contestants will be judged and scored on their smile, personality, theme attire and overall positive effect on the audience. Contestants should be prepared to walk across the stage by themselves. They do not need to model but will be expected to walk to a marked spot on the stage for judging.
Winners will be chosen for the following categories:
Best Attire—the child whose outfit most exemplifies the theme of this year’s pageant, “Indiana.” There will be one girl winner and one boy winner.
Little Miss Riley Festival—will be the girl with the highest scores in all of the areas judged.
Little Mr. Riley Festival—will be the boy with the highest scores in all of the areas judged.
*In the event of a tie in the numerical score, the judges will converse and agree on one overall winner, and the judges’ decision is final.
Little Miss and Mister are asked to participate in the 2017 Riley Festival Parade, 2017 Christmas Parade of Lights, and the 2017 Hancock County 4-H Parade. Winners will be contacted prior to each parade with arrangements by the pageant coordinator.
